The Group, founded in 1964 by the McKeown family, is the largest independent concrete products manufacturer in Ireland, with turnover in excess of £60 million, and is planning to build upon this impressive reputation in the UK.
Kilsaran is already well established in the UK and has a network of key industry relationships including builder’s merchants Benchmark Building Supplies.  Their involvement with Benchmark has given the Group a local presence based at Trafford Park, Manchester which has strengthened Kilsaran’s UK business base.

Our aim is to build a strong supplier network with local builder’s merchants and trade professionals, as well as build on relationships with architects, contractors, civil engineers and local authorities.  We have been exporting to the UK for over two years now and we felt now was the right time to expand our team to realise our ambitions for sustainable growth within the UK.”

The Group manufactures paving, walling and pre-mixed concrete products and also mines its raw materials from its own quarries.  The emphasis on providing bespoke and innovative solutions to both the commercial and domestic markets will be a primary focus for the UK.

Kilsaran has already completed several prestigious projects across the UK including a number of Dobbies Garden Centres where their permeable block paving system, Clima-Pave has been installed.  Clima-Pave is a simple yet cost effective solution for contractors, to assist in solving the local planning requirements of a sustainable urban drainage system. 

The Group also opened a state-of-the–art production and showroom facility in Ireland recently and prides itself on pushing the boundaries in landscape innovation, whilst providing additional employment in these difficult economic times.  The Group has 300 employees and with the expansion into the UK, more jobs will be created which can only be good news in the current economic climate.
