A 54 year old man from Billericay in Essex is looking forward to life in the fast lane after scooping first prize in a national competition run by Irwin Tools, manufacturer of professional hand tools and power tools accessories.
Michael Harrison, who entered the competition simply by buying a 15 Irwin XP Tape Measure at the D&M Tools Show at Kempton Park Racecourse in November 2011, has become the proud owner of a 30,000 Nissan 370Z in Irwin livery.
Michael was picked at random to win the prize from more then 6000 entrants and was presented with the keys to the car at a special ceremony at Kempton Park Racecourse.
Commenting on winning the prize, Michael said: “I can’t believe I’ve won a sportscar, just from buying something as small as a tape measure. I’ve never won anything in my life and never thought these type of competitions were real. I can’t wait to take it out for a drive”
Under the strapline ‘Use The Best, Be The Best’, the competition launched in March 2011, with Irwin challenging trade professionals to try their latest and greatest tools for a chance to win big prizes at more than 70 events at builders merchants and trade shows across the UK.
Ian Birdsall, Channel Marketing Manager at Irwin said: “Last year’s competition has been fantastic. Trade professionals throughout the UK have really embraced the challenge and won some fantastic prizes. Look out for the Irwin team in 2012, as we’ve got some plans in the pipeline for an even bigger competition this year.”
